When in Italy, I effortlessly asked about bus tickets, train schedules, how to operate the clothes dryer, you name it. And, I understood the responses! I did not glance at my phrasebook once. (Giustina said I did not even need to take it, but I wasn't so sure at the time.) I even had "real" conversations with locals. By the way, very few people speak English in Assisi."

As a student of both private and group classes, I have learned much about the language as well as the culture of the Italian people. I tried learning the language with a variety of books and CDs as well as Rosetta Stone, but nothing compares to first hand interaction with a native speaker. Classes with Giustina made learning fun. Each week, I looked forward to attending class. Giustina was very patient and modified the program to suit my personal pace of learning.
